Optum seems to only care about their bottom line. My department was an acquired asset of Optum along with several others amongst our original employer. The first thing you notice when switching over is how terrible the health benefits are. This is foreshadowing as Optum/UHC will do anything and everything in their power to cut costs at every turn. They will make you feel comfortable that your job is not in jeopardy then suddenly the layoffs begin. Even that is not done in an orderly fashion, they will just suddenly cut entire teams without fully understanding the work these teams do. Then scramble to fix the inefficiencies. They are all too happy to outsource to India and the Philippines if it means they can save some money, at the cost of customer satisfaction.
