Pros
There is this inexplicable warmth across most Notinos that is truly rare and special. They have done a good job at building structure in leadership (it is a bit too top heavy) who advocate for their people - this is at least true in the people department. The offices are stunning, well appointed, and a wonderfully welcoming places to collaborate IRL.
Cons
The Chief People Officer is one of the most inauthentic people I’ve come across in my professional career. She is full of herself (unsure why in a professional context), tone deaf (has made racist and angry comments in team meetings), and hasn’t done anything of note to contribute to Notion in her 6+ months (other than say we need to make our slack pictures actual pictures of ourselves and not use the Notion emojis…) She is toxic and the mass exodus that happened when she joined and continues to happen should have been a red flag to the founder but he seems to think highly of her. After the racist comment, outburst, and bad reviews on Glassdoor, she took to slack to apologize to everyone for not getting to know us first…weird. Then in these one on one meetings “getting to know us” she proceeded to tell folks Notion is her last stop professionally. Yikes. It feels like a cash grab and it’s disappointing.
