Pros

Working in the corporate office, you hear from upper - upper management that they really do care about their employees. There are a lot of great benefits. Because it's such a large corporation, they have discounts offered for other services (your phone bill, everything in Pacific Place, etc.) It's a great name to have on your resume and the pay is pretty competitive to what is being offered elsewhere.

Cons

A con to being such a large corporation is that your co-workers can skate by and barely work, and you can have really bad management. If you repeatedly try to report management or co-worker issues in your department, there is a minuscule glimmer of hope that you will be supported and actually helped. Otherwise, if you feel something is fishy before you start working on a team, I would stay clear and find another one within the company. They also move at a glacial pace to solve problems both with business demands and personnel issues, which is why they can't compete with companies like Amazon that aren't afraid to try something new and learning from failing. The technology in the company is laughable. I honestly feel that working at this company set me back in my career because of the unqualified leadership that dictated my team and because I never learned anything ... except that you should never go to HR.

Pros

Decent base pay, somewhat autonomous, great tip potential.

Cons

The company has changed for the worse since COVID. When I came back the mood of the entire store had shifted. Gone were the days of comradery, customer focus, and taking pride in a job well done. In its place there is a new culture of cutthroat sales, a severe decline in customer focus, and worst of all a new focus on profit over customer satisfaction. When I was told that the amount the store charged for a shoe shine was not enough to do the best job I could for a customer I knew things had gone downhill for the company. Not to mention I watch a manager prey on a mentally disabled person in order to secure a sale, when the person could not understand what was being offered. Sad that such a once great company is now just another greed ridden corporation.
