Pros
You will find yourself collaborating with extremely talented, dedicated, and easy-to-work-with colleagues. The offices are great, if you live close-by.
Cons
There are undertones of the smaller UK office always coming second to the dominant US office in terms of funding, attention, comms, respect, and company culture. In the last 18 months of the Product team, efforts to reduce costs and maximize output have led to layoffs, frequent personnel shuffles, tangled reporting lines, and inconsistent direction. These practices continue, and negatively impact morale and result in high turnover. Management's approach to employee compensation is troubling. There are instances of hiring managers making false promises about bonuses, and a large number of employees being underpaid. It feels pointless to argue with leadership about adjusting salaries by inflation, over and over. The CFO’s remark, “If you are not happy with your salary, don't let the door hit you on the way out,” highlights a staggering disconnect between leadership and employee welfare.
