Pros

I wish I could say there are some pros; there aren't.

Cons

A culture of business and social foolishness combined with morbid professional complacency, laid entirely at the feet of proud and narcissistic, confused and un-learning leadership. I say un-learning, because you'd expect the School of Hard Knocks to eventually cause growth-through-suffering, but there in lies the problem. It would take a short essay to explain a few case studies to make my point; suffice it to say, foolish leadership is sheltered from suffering the consequences of said foolish leadership because of the enormous Cult-of-Personality that supports and covers for bad judgements. The blood and sweat of people here provide a (seemingly) never-ending safety-net for leadership, so leadership never learns anything. Sycophantry abounds. Those with friends in high-places can advance, but even they do not get paid market-value. These individuals stay because of the political connections and atta-boyism that abounds to these praise cravers. Foolishness that pats itself on the back, lies about accomplishments to superiors, and then said superiors do the exact same thing. Customers leave as fast as they come on board; with good reason. The "attrition" (read: Smart People getting the heck outa Dodge) of non-sycophants around here is staggering. Expect a barrage of new faces and names that come and go, along with an equally large group of stomach turning teachers-pets that look down on everyone that doesn't drink the Kool-Aid and workaholic to the same drum-beat that they workaholic to. So, why am I STILL here after being here for over a decade? This might sound disingenuous and cliché, but I'm sentimental. My core team has been here nearly as long as I have; they are practically family. To leave, is to leave them. I will leave someday though... I hope & dream. They say the grass is always greener, but this place crushes your soul and your dreams and makes you lazy and complacent if you stick around long enough. Eventually you just become numb to the pain and suffering. I promise you this, the grass IS greener in many other places that are NOT Lumen.

Pros

Good pay, great benefits, great people to work with, boss is great, etc.

Cons

Company is undergoing transformation, so it's a bit chaotic. Have to work with old stuff and new stuff at the same time. Hopefully that will change as we transform further.
