Pros
I was retained by management through two layoffs by being transferred to other jobs. This was due to good performance. This was a union shop and I was low on seniority, so this was a huge deal. Great management.
Cons
There are no performance based incentives because of the union environment. The union is adamant that everyone receive the same raises, regardless of performance. This may be a good for some people...
