Pros
Pay scale is very comparable to other hospitals in the system. At the Salmon Creek Medical Center they have made every effort to ensure they hire pleasant personalities. Coworkers get along very well so far. This is slowly changing as management missteps are leading to discord in the ranks.
Cons
Lets review: 3 MILLION dollar fine for not ensuring lunch breaks from the Oregon Labor and Industry; the Legacy Meridian Park Medical Center is laying off all RTs and having them rebid for their positions. Some old timers are now offered on-call night shift. They have weaponized the method of reporting mistakes instead of using it to correct mistakes. Legacy likes to advertise their "Just Culture". This idea is used very oddly as managers do not hold themselves or their favorites to this standard. Staffing is based on "billable activities" leaving all the little jobs that take much of the shift uncounted. Staffing is a big problem as Legacy wants to balance their books by working us harder. Legacy will not take responsibility for the results of this. It's the workers fault even if there are not enough workers. Benefits have gone down each year I have worked there and more claims are being denied.
