Pros
Working as an Assistant Project Manager on commercial retail and healthcare projects has been one of the most defining experiences of my career, not just professionally, but personally.
From day one, I was trusted with meaningful responsibility. The pace is demanding, and expectations are high, but that environment pushed me to grow quickly and confidently.
However, what defines this company most for me is not just the projects we build, it’s how they treat their people.
During my time in this role, I experienced a life-altering medical event that ultimately resulted in a leg amputation. It was an incredibly difficult and uncertain period for me and my family. Throughout that journey, leadership and my team showed extraordinary compassion, flexibility, and encouragement. I was never made to feel like a burden or a liability. Instead, I felt valued, supported, and genuinely cared for.
The understanding I received during recovery and the encouragement to return when I was ready demonstrated a culture that goes far beyond productivity metrics. It showed integrity, humanity, and true leadership. That kind of support builds loyalty you can’t manufacture.
Construction is demanding, deadlines are real, and work-life balance can fluctuate during critical phases. But knowing you are part of a team that stands behind you, not only when projects are on track, but when life takes an unexpected turn really makes all the difference.
This is a place where you can grow professionally, be challenged daily, and know that you matter as a person.
