Pros

Annual Health screening for discounted normal premiums.

Cons

There are two distinct benefits packages. People with PhD have normal if not free supplemental perks..Typically Associate Director and above. That you have a college degree in Chemistry is irrelevant. At that leve,l 4 year degree or less you you're treated as completely expendable. LabCorp is a Holding Company. Where the CEO isn't a scientist but an opportunistic stock exchange small to medium-small cap goshhawk swooping up small often struggling lab startups. Usurping the talent and exploiting every last penny of profit from the technology and acquired staff, then firing senior personnel after the tech matures. Once you hit your earning potential be prepared for growth, growth on Lab Corpse financials coming at your BU expense. Without investment in your BU research, want to guess how you meet expected profits for them? Hahahahha by cutting expenses. Your companies expenses. Typically this means cutting "superfluous" senior staffers whom have carved out a niche position, whom cannot be easily replaced and leave you hiring inexperienced replacements that can't meet your expectation then promptly quitting after the expected offer arrives from a real company. Typically arriving around 4 - 6 months. What a headache. Did I mention health insurance premiums? To qualify for "discounted" essentially "normally " offered pricing anywhere else. These skin-flints invite you to participate in onsite "health" screenings in order to qualify for the discount pricing. Your freaking body has to confirm to their arbitrary battery of exams, overweight? Well the testing is right after the holidays. February, when your fat and grumpy. They draw blood, test for nicotine and lord only knows what they screen you for. This isn't a bash review, this is how they operate. Only the most self loathing remain here. To get rid of you they find a discrepancy to cut you loose, but only after an "investigation" determines these irregularities are a direct infraction of company policy and not only are walked out, they deny you unemployment insurance which you earn. Because of alleged mis-conduct. It's stead work but the health screening and wage compensation restructuring they don't pay you for the first month, you see, the first month is paid on your last day. They somehow roll it in to your last check in the form of a letter from the IRS that your funds which sat in escrow while not reported to you and you've since forgotten are owed in back taxes. I'm so furious with these people. They use every trick to keep employees down. Labweek in recognition for your hard work filled with fun activities, they charge you $15.99 for a celebratory Labweak T-shirt. This isn't a slam but reality. I got an offer from the Feds to work from the FDA and I gave them a fun filled labweek long after I was gone. They still have not been able to fill my position, saw it posted again, it's been 4 years! Enjoy those audits!

Pros

None whatsoever. Everything they advertise as a pro has fineprint that renders it completely useless.

Cons

Wish I could have given zero stars, 1 star feels like lying. The most important thing is that they will mess you over without a second thought. For those who may have just started at the company, quit now before they mess you over. Don't be deceived by the benefits they advertise. Don't think you're valued because they will turn on you the second keeping you as part of the team inconveniences them. They don't pay fairly and blow off people who need to make a living. On top of trash pay, the work environment will have you hating what you do even while you're actively helping people. At PSCs, you're severely overworked and under a microscope. As an IOP, you're underappreciated and taken advantage of. The way they do business is very shady. They constantly have lawsuits against them, Google it. I saw the reviews and didn't listen because I thought a bad job was better than no job in this economy. I was so wrong. For your own mental health, and overall finances, don't work here. EVER. There are other jobs out there that pay fairly and aren't toxic. I found one and am so happy because I could have been trapped in a company going nowhere. Now I am paid what I'm worth and growing in my career, not just stuck choosing between being a phlebotomist, float or a high-stress supervisor. Just wait for a better job. I promise, the trash pay and stress are NOT worth the gas you'll waste driving all over the place even when you're not a float. Just don't do it.
