Pros
Exposure to different aspects of conservative orthopedic care and sports medicine, and shoe fitting, and how they all play together. Good experience to improve interpersonal skills and clinical patient interaction. Subsidized training for those hoping to pursue pedorthic career.
Cons
Fundamentally very sales focused despite company messaging; certain clinics can be cliquey; not much growth past regular responsibilities unless becoming a Pedorthist or store manager; very poor starting wage despite the breadth of knowledge required to perform Fit Expert duties; upper management and marketing seem to be disconnected with priorities of what happens 'on the floor'. Constantly altering clinic location makes planning life around it difficult. Check wording on hiring contract before signing your rights away.
