Pros

You’ll gain broad consulting experience and exposure to diverse clients and projects. Many colleagues are kind, collaborative, and genuinely supportive of one another, which helps make challenging projects more manageable.

Cons

The pay is minimal for the expectations and workload. Employees are often overworked, with unrealistic deadlines and limited support to manage competing priorities. While the team is supportive, it’s difficult to spend time discussing challenges or improving processes when nearly every hour must be “billable” to a client. Promotions tend to go to those who are the most vocal rather than based on transparent, objective criteria, and there are no clear career pathing guidelines. The culture places a strong emphasis on constant positivity—every update or minor milestone is celebrated, but there’s little room for honest reflection. Constructive questions or feedback are often met with resistance or viewed as negative or unsupportive. Company-wide discussions only highlight positive survey results, with limited acknowledgment of opportunities for real growth or improvement. Advancement feels out of reach unless you fully conform and overlook the underlying issues.

Pros

I've had the chance to work across a wide variety of industries and projects, which has pushed me to grow in ways I didn't expect. The team is collaborative and genuinely trusting. You're given real autonomy to do your job well. It's also a very low-ego environment and leadership listens to employee feedback and acts on it (they do regular surveys, and you can see the results reflected in real changes). Leadership also puts real effort into keeping the team connected, and I think that's a big reason I've developed real friendships here, which is rare and honestly refreshing in a fully remote environment! The benefits are competitive too which is a plus.

Cons

I don't see it as a "con" per se, but a realistic view of the role. The pace can be fast and priorities shift based on client needs, so you have to be comfortable juggling multiple projects and adapting quickly. If you're coming from a more structured environment it can be an adjustment, but very doable!

Pros

Honestly, getting to work with the most passionate, intelligent and hard working group of HR professionals I have ever worked with. PTO is generous and we’re encouraged to take it. Constant learning and growth. 2 months can feel like 2 years with the amount of work we do. We touch every area of HR! Getting to work with companies all over the country and in virtually every industry. You’ll make real impacts for your clients and their people. Again…the people! They’re just amazing.

Cons

This type of work is not for everyone. Organization, time manageable and communication is key. The workload can get overwhelming at times, but there’s support from the team when you need it. It can be challenging to learn how to juggle the client workload, but it’s a process. I constantly talk it out with my manager and team, so even on the busiest days, I feel supported.
