Pros

The main benefit is the ability to work from home. The onboarding experience was good, the recruitment process was well managed. Hubspot actively promotes diversity and inclusion. The product itself truly brings value to the table and I had the opportunity to meet some incredibly talented sales professionals. On a personal level, I also had the pleasure of interacting with some genuinely fun and friendly individuals whom I still maintain contact with to this day.

Cons

I was initially hesitant to provide a review of this company, but I feel compelled to share my thoughts due to a push from Glassdoor. Allow me to express my perspective: on a deeper level, this corporation treats its employees as mere numbers and fails to foster a healthy work culture, despite promoting otherwise. I am genuinely surprised by the abundance of positive reviews as I suspect individuals are encouraged to leave their feedback during the initial month when everything appears ideal. However, conversations held outside of working hours reveal a vastly different opinion and it is exceedingly challenging to find someone in sales who genuinely enjoys working here. In the sales department, your success heavily relies on the luck of being assigned a decent territory and good customer portfolio. If you happen to receive a territory previously handled by an experienced rep, you're in luck. Otherwise, it becomes a matter of chance. The territories are small, since company over hired and achieving success seems to hinge on some questionable tactics. When I was there, only 20% of reps were hitting quota. Yet, this is merely small aspect of the overall problem. The entire company fosters a cult-like atmosphere that disregards honest opinions and stifles independent thinking. Burnout is prevalent across the entire sales department, with colleagues in sales reporting a lack of work-life balance persisting for years. High turnover. Furthermore, middle management ... the level of micromanagement here surpasses any other company I have worked for by far. It feels like your manager only cares about climbing up the career ladder. Let's put it this way, this is the only job that has ever interrupted my sleep pattern. Working from home, my partner with years of experience in management, overheard most of my 1:1 with my manager and asked me to leave for the sake of my mental health. I changed and never looked back.

Pros

The teams you work with are phenomenal. The knowledge combination between an internal customer facing teams, engineering product development teams, and Sales are unmatched.

Cons

Excessive use of PIPs to oust employees after multiple high revenue launches, with no explanation, actual documentation, or factual data. Reviews have been adjusted to allow for terminations post pre-approved leaves. Salaries are a joke. You are always in a cover yourself mode 24/7. Management reviews are consistently a 2 or 3 out of 5 no matter what. If a team decides you aren’t in the group, management will put you on a “unofficial” PIP without telling you, in order to surprise you at a later date. Even if they are unfounded. Beware of possibility of negative backlash post launches. They will feel the need to assign blame ( such as for timelines or issues related to bugs). Regardless of performance or level of involvement. This is an enormous company with many large paths for career advancement. But micro management is rampant, leaving little room for doing the daily expectations of your actual role. This degrades your opportunities for career advancement.
