Pros
- A lot of Autonomy - Opportunity to develope highly specialized skills - Always learning - Safe place to make and learn from mistakes (failure is not "punished" or feared like it is at some companies) - Instead of feeling forced to have a certain set of skills I have felt that the skills I have are utilized and developed - In an era of evaporating benefits, their's aren't bad - Pay for relevant certifications and training - People that say there is no balance have brought it upon themselves. Draw clear lines about yourself (ie. No checking email once I am at home) and you can have exceptional work-life balance. - This is CERTAINLY NOT one of the big business consulting firms
Cons
- No home office budget....like zero - Got rid of pretty cheap benefits like paying a generous phone bill supplement and home internet reimbursement - Unclear paths for advancement (they're working on it though) - Not the hippest or social company, so consider that if that is important to you - The employee time entry system
