Pros

Hilton Worldwide provides great benefits and rewards to employees, even employees that are employed by franchised Hilton Properties. At the Marco Island location itself, some of the managers are quite competent, truly want you to succeed and are quite kind. The pay scale for entry level is not excellent, but higher than the average.

Cons

Management are easily threatened by individuals who inevitably express work ethic, performance and desire to succeed at their level. If you demonstrate these types of characteristics, this place is not for you. The management is rather incompetent. I witnessed a multi-departmental management flux in a matter of 2 weeks. 5 departments, 5 different managers (all in the "click" of upper management) and majority of the individuals confessed they were not previously experienced within the departments they are relocating too. They praise individuals who are rude and incompetent to make them desire remaining beneath them, rather than relocating to a different department or possibly replacing the management in position itself. They will make multiple accusations daily, suggesting you made the worst mistake that could possibly be done, then when they pull up the records to verify, it actually verifies the opposite of what they were accusing. If you get an apology for it - wow! They must be feeling sick that day. If you are a great employee, who strives to work in a team environment with a positive work ethic, then this is not the company for you. This company is extremely unethical and does not value employees beyond what Hilton Worldwide wants to be provided to all Hilton Employees.

Pros

Different services and softwares provided by Hilton are convenient to have access to.

Cons

The new PMS system, PEP, is awful. They got rid of F&B Distribution for night audit which means a lot less work for night auditors and way more work for accountants. PEP also doesn’t have the same functionalities as OnQ, the previous PMS. I have not heard any good thing about PEP after all these years. The team member travel discounts aren’t good anymore. They used to be flat rates across three tiers of hotels, but now they are extremely variable and can run very high. On top of that, hotels and resorts still charge team members for parking and service fees, so you still can’t afford to travel on the discount. That is, if you even find the team member rate available. Chances are, you’ll be working for a franchisee, not Hilton itself. They may be one of the world’s best companies to work for, but you probably won’t actually be working for them. California taxes and district fees felt mishandled by corporate.
