Pros
(I worked as a temporary, contract employee in Rocky Hill, CT) Henkel has: >> plenty of bright, hardworking people in leadership positions' >> a very impressive product line in industrial adhesives/lubricants and similar products (Loctite is the most recognizable brand in the Adhesives division, but the multinational company also sells Health/Beauty and Laundry/Home Care products -- but it's Adhesives at Rocky Hill.) >> good working conditions; employees are well-treated >> competitive pay (for the tiny segment of the industry that I'm familiar with, anyway) >> in general, the deadlines for big projects are reasonable
Cons
>> sometimes corporate structure/policy can seem overly strict, with little room for creativity. (this company was founded in Germany) >> as with many companies these days, the main objective seems to be to keep the shareholders happy; the company is cutting back on marketing and eliminating 100 jobs in North America despite shown good growth in a down market, simply because the growth didn't match the goal set by top corporate officials.
