Pros
Opportunity to work with colleagues with a range of interesting backgrounds. Decent work/life balance but vastly dependant on line manager. Some genuine attempts to improve DE&I but only at the surface.
Cons
Makes unrealistic promises about the nature of GC's work during the hiring stage so overqualified people end up in a role vastly different to what was intially described. Pay for most staff is ludicrously below market average, unless they've recently moved from another firm. Salary transparency is frowned upon by senior management, likely because members of the same teams doing the same work often have 10-20k pay disparities. There are pretty huge questions around whether or not the finance team are just not paying anyone's pensions. It seems GC is facing repercussions for poor financial planning during its expansion.
