Pros

Competitive pay for the area. Good benefits: plenty of vacation days, personal days, sick days. Gym membership reimbursement. Free ebook library. $6k or more for tuition reimbursement per year. Decent healthcare coverage. Transportation business is in great shape and GE, in general, is placing more and more emphasis on the software engineering group.

Cons

It can always be a challenge to stand out in a big company, but if you promote yourself you can get ahead. It is always proportional to the effort you put in.

Pros

My first job after college and my internship was a great experience. I learned a lot about medical devices and the medical device industry, and I even got promoted to site leader pretty quickly.

Cons

My training was nonexistent; I learned everything from medical device service manuals. In my region, a billion-dollar company offered no bonuses or decent pay, and the management was micromanaging and horrible.
