Pros

FMI epitomizes a work hard, play hard culture. The staff ranges from entry level to +10 years of experience in one of the largest industries in corporate America. FMI provides all the tools to succeed and flourish, utilizing a top notch TMS system that integrates all business operation. FMI's Management gives their employee's the autonomy to grow and learn the business by proactively giving pointers and training without the pressure of a micro manager constantly looking over your shoulder. The logistics/transportation is an up-hill battle and a stressful industry. To counteract that, FMI's management consistently creates incentives and innovative ways to alleviate stress to motivate.

Cons

If you are not Proactive, Thick-skinned, Problem solver and Motivated then working for FMI would be a con.

Pros

The day-to-day atmosphere at freight management is competitive, but if you put in the work it is very relaxed and you are given the tools to succeed. FMI’s TMS is the best I have ever worked with. Both the operations and sales managers are extremely helpful and supportive. If you have a question on something you never feel like you have to debate whether you should ask or not. They are very approachable down to earth and a key factor why a career with FMI can be enjoyable and beneficial. On the sales side your coworkers are extremely supportive and helpful as well allowing you to learn the industry at a quick pace from people that have been doing this for a while.

Cons

This job is not for those looking to coast. They will allow you to start at your own pace but you would need to be willing to work and consistently show improvement. Numbers are not everything, but effort is. Being competitive does not only mean working hard. You will be in situations where if you feel you are right you will need to fight for that issue and not back down simply because someone with more authority tells you that you were wrong. If you are not outspoken and do not have thick skin, you will have a tougher path to success.
