Pros
They always try to promote from within and give you the tools you need to advance your career. There is a team based atmosphere where you're working towards a common goal and everyone is encouraged to help one another. There are opportunities for learning, growth and personal development.
Cons
Very stuck in the old way of doing things, especially when it come to technology. Their underwriting system needs a huge overhaul in comparison to the industry. Management does not look out for the best interest of staff and will often throw staff under the bus to satisfy customer ego. Everything is about volume, not about what's right or best. As with most corporations, middle management is, for the majority unqualified and promoted based on favouritism or who they know as opposed to qualification or experience. A few members of the middle management team are extremely unprofessional and under-qualified. The work loads are very unbalanced. The key players get bogged down and burnt out while others who would benefit from more work or experience are left to sit and do nothing as opposed to evenly distributing workflow.
