Supportive culture but declining benefits and work-life balance - Manager Fidelity Investments Employee Review

Pros

People of Fidelity are positive and welcoming Relatively stable. Potentially “recession proof” Sizable PTO 23 days pre 5 years. 28 days, post. Good access to benefits such as tuition reimbursement, free P&A of accounts, healthcare and retirement are good, not great.

Cons

Worsening work life balance due to RTO mandate, poor seating and workplace accommodations as well as lacking leadership communications has contributed to poor mental health. Outdated retirement benefits compared to stock option programs and not quite as “industry leading” as the #1 401k plan sponsor. Roles and responsibilities constantly evolving, and with enterprise pay requirements it almost never comes with fair compensation. It is often packaged as “but the higher visibility”. Constant reduction in employee offerings, to name a few -took away 10$ lunch credit. -took away gym reimbursement program. -“hybrid work environment” now relapses to worse than pre-COVID conditions. -masters program reduced to only partial tuition coverage.

Pros

Benefits including profit sharing and bonuses are great. The breadth of this company provides a great opportunity to try out different career paths or boost your current one.

Cons

In my current role, I am working overtime more often than I'd like with recognition that seems to only go so far until it sizzles out. That may be tied to the size of the company itself, where promotions work in a "trickle down" manner.
