Pros
There is often overtime available, should you desire additional income. Employees receive 2 weeks of paid vacation upon hiring, plus 4 personal holidays and 6 federal holidays. Employees are eligible for sick time after 90 days. The high standards give you a constant goal to strive for, should you be compelled to strive for perfection. You may have 2 pictures on your desk as long as they are no larger than 5X8 and framed, of course. Parking is free. Many nearby restaurants will deliver or are within short driving distance. The lunch room and restrooms are of adequate quality. The computers and phones have been recently updated (for the most part). There is one exceptional team supervisor and one exceptional team lead. They are often overwhelmed with work and many things are out of their control, but they offer the best assistance they can humanly manage.
Cons
The work environment is generally unhealthy and stressful. The pay is not adequate for the work that employees do and the expectations they are to meet. Overtime is often required, for example: for the past 5-6 months employees have been required to work between 4-10 hours of overtime each week, regardless of education, family needs, availability, or any other personal matter. Typically the required mandatory overtime is 8 hours per week. Critical infromation needed to do your job is often not provided, outdated, unclear, or varies based on whom you ask. You may not have paper on your desk. Policy changes, special exceptions and procedures updates are so frequent that opening your e-mail is often dreadful, and searching for an important update is futile. The work that you do is unstimulating and unsatisfying. Grounds for terminating employment literally includes being 1 second late, a total of 10 times in a year. Communication lacks in all areas. Opportunities for advancement are rare and career development is not encouraged. Systems essential to doing your job have frequent outages and are often sluggish, yet silence of greater than 10 seconds is unnacceptable. Meetings and 'Coaching' or 'One on One' sessions are generally uninformative and useless.
