Pros
literally none. I'm not kidding, there is not a single PRO I can even list.
Cons
I will never and I say NEVER in all bold letters, ever ever again apply for a position with Apex or with SRHS. My first four weeks with this company have been a hellish nightmare. My first week on the job has been even worse. Backing up a bit, when I went in for my interview a representative from apex met me at the hospital, escorted me up to the third floor and left when I began my interview. I really needed a job, so I said, yeah I can do this. Because little did I know, that I was agreeing to a bunch of nonsense. The supervisor over switchboard told me that I would not be working weekends for six months because weekend, and I said that's fine. I was then told by a representative at apex that the supervisor of this position has been burned in the past by people only working a few days an quitting. Redflag number one. I am then forced to wait three weeks to start this job, no reason was given for it, but I dealt with it. The three week wait ... all of my paperwork and testing was spread out over three weeks when it could have been completed in a day and caused me to waste a lot of my gas driving back and forth from greenville to where I live. First day on the job, an HR rep at the hospital giving my badge mentioned again that people only last a few days in this position. Redflag 2. I go in for my training, the woman training me tells me she hasn't trained anyone in a long time and she doesn't know where to begin. Redflag 3. I am then trained to do a job I will not even be doing. Basically being trained like a brain surgeon when I'm only taking phone calls, is the best explanation I can give. I explained to the trainer I didn't understand why she was training me for a job I wasn't doing, and she repeatedly apologized over days for training me useless information and processes. The supervisor of switchboard tells me on thursday to come in Monday after I finish up my training for helpdesk on Friday, and to be in the hospital on Monday to start switchboard side of my training. Friday I go in, I am told by my trainer that they have meetings for the rest of the afternoon and I ask what she would prefer for me to do? and she told me to work until lunchtime and go home, which I did. Two hours later, Apex blows my phone up back to back every single minute calling and texting my phone (I did not see this at the time because I was taking a shower). I checked my voicemails and received a threatening voicemail from apex telling me if I did not call them back, I would not have a job because they were informed that I left and went home and basically to them abandoned my job. I'm literally like, what the???? So I call Apex and explain, and get accused of being told to do something that I wasn't even told to do, the woman at apex says shes going to call the switchboard supervisor and she will call me back. The whole weekend goes by with no phone call. Monday I get up and call apex to check on things, and am told everything is fine and that they are sorry that I did not get a call back. I go in to the hospital, still cannot get into the doors, and get brought into the switchboard room and ignored for a few minutes while they take phone calls. Both women in the room ask me who I am, and then have to call to figure out what I'm even supposed to do because the supervisor didn't even tell anyone I was coming. Half way through my shift, the trainer for switchboard pulls up the schedule and I wasn't even scheduled to be there. I was also scheduled to work a weekend shift when I was originally told I wasn't. Things get more irritating from there, because being I worked in the hospital I had no time to go get food and eat within 30 minutes time because by the time I got my food I had 10 minutes to eat it. I get back upstairs to the room and get yelled at for being 1 minute late. I go home for the day after being told to take Tuesday off, so I did. I called Apex this morning to explain my frustrations with this whole situation, and because there is a serious lack of communication with this company, with the company that has contracted them to hire me, and myself...one person employed there called every single one of my emergency contact numbers and questioned where I was. On the phone with the apex woman I spoke to, I was screamed at by the woman and told I am making their company look bad because I failed to tell them all of this even after explaining twice that I did not tell anyone about the problems because I had already been threatened with not having a job for doing something I was told to do, because of serious lack of communication that has been a problem with both Apex and the hospital and me since day one. I was further screamed at, and truthfully because by this point I have had so much thrown at me that I am not even certain about the job, after being yelled at I told them I am truly uncertain about this job and that I would not be returning..I only worked a week.. These people have been the nastiest, most unorganized company I have ever worked for. After my family informing me that they had received multiple phone calls, I finally sent a text message back "I would very much appreciate it if you would inform everyone in your office not to call every single one of my family members anymore. Calling me is one thing, but calling my family and harassing them is another because they are listed as emergency contacts and calling them because I had not called or notified anyone until I personally called you is not an emergency or a reason to call every single person and number I put down. That's extremely excessive and I seriously hope that your office does not do that to all of the people you employ. Also, I have submitted the hours I worked this week. Thank you for the opportunity for the hospital position. I truly do mean that." I have yet to receive a response.
