Pros
I’m in PSS so a lot of the pros come from the client site specific to this. - If you get a great client group, you’ll learn a lot from them. There’s room to be proactive and learn a lot of their science.
Cons
- A SUPER micromanaging environment. I came from academia and management (Eurofins, not client) here is the most toxic, full of red tape, and micromanaging I’ve ever experienced. - Get ready for being confined as a second class citizen when working with the client. They just want you to serve the client but not learning anything from them. - Some group leaders clearly thrive from a power trip and will literally nitpick every single “behavior” that are deemed “problematic”.
