Pros

- OK benefits after PTO was increased - Remote work and attempting to create a remote work culture instead of pretending video calls replace the office. - Company mission you can feel good about. - Stakeholders have worked as software developers. - Lots of opportunities for training in accessibility and software.

Cons

- Growing pains and high turnover. There are bottlenecks where they are not keeping departments sufficiently staffed. - Senior management doesn't hold themselves to the company core values. - Senior management will ignore or shut down communication from employees about issues. Toxic employee behavior is repeatedly condoned by senior management. - The review from 2019 saying "Control is very tightly held by one person in particular, and having an impact on the company's products or services is hard to do unless you're a certain type of personality (male and willing to fight over things)." is still relevant.

Pros

As a seller, there's key things I personally look for in a role (ability to hit/overachieve on quota, solution fit, and work-life balance). Quota attainment: This is one of the strongest areas. Most of the AEs are either above quota or at least 70-80%+ which is impressive for sales roles these days. For those below, they're typically newer reps ramping up and building their books of business of may have had an off quarter. Lead flow, while at times has been inconsistent, has picked up in 2026 which is great for our team's outlook. Solution fit: competitors in this space over pieces of what Deque can - while it's competitive and customers will choose competitors here and there, Deque has a significant lead in strategy and current offerings. Having worked at other accessibility companies, it's far beyond what others can do. Work-life balance: this is the one area that can be improved for what I look for. Enhancements in rep efficiency via various tools help and I expect it'll get better in 2026, but there's a lot of work to be done.

Cons

It's really on the work-life balance piece - it's not a critical issue for me given the earning potential and the pros above, but it's important to take time here and there to recharge and step away.

Thanks for taking the time to share this - really appreciate the thoughtful and balanced perspective. It’s great to hear you’re seeing strong product-market fit and solid performance across the team, and that lead flow has been improving. We also hear you on work-life balance. That’s an area we’re continuing to look at closely, especially around ways to make work more efficient and reduce unnecessary friction. Appreciate the feedback and the suggestions for management - this kind of input genuinely helps.

Thanks for sharing this - appreciate the honest feedback. We’re glad to hear the work feels challenging and that you see strength in the business model and mission. We also hear you on the pace and workload. As the company grows and moves quickly, we know that can sometimes translate into people feeling stretched, and we’re actively working on ways to improve capacity planning and reduce overload. Appreciate you taking the time to leave this.
