Pros

Free lunch first Tuesday of every month Hybrid work model

Cons

Leadership is out of touch with what roles are needed 100+ person agency and lack vital roles ie producers, traffickers, etc Pile multiple roles on to PM’s and expect them to just sink or swim mentality Lack of structure in departments in which they have senior roles doing the same tasks as junior roles Open desk policy so employees just grab whichever desk is open and sometimes there aren’t enough desks for employees No on staff dedicated IT dept 95% of the agency has not worked outside curious plot walls at other agencies Operate like a 30 person agency Toxic culture with complaining and negativity Little to no diversity

Pros

Curious Plot has an incredibly talented group of people who truly care about the work and about one another. There’s a strong sense of camaraderie, especially within functional teams. Even when things get busy, people support each other and find ways to get the work done. The culture balances creativity and accountability, and the leadership encourages everyone to bring their authentic selves to the table. It’s a place where you’re challenged, supported, and surrounded by people who push you to do your best work!

Cons

Like any agency, the pace can be a grind at times, but that comes with the territory.

Pros

There are some great people that work here. In the early days of my time I appreciated the no-nonsense approach to getting the work done. It is impressive the volume of work they were able to push through for certain clients with budgets. Flexible work environment. Nicely structured performance management process. Regular opportunities for promotion.

Cons

The switch from a user-friendly project management software to an archaic software that matched up with their accounting system was a killer to the company culture. Suddenly, everyone was in a bad mood. When reflecting on companies of a similar size or larger, there is a considerable ratio of SVPs and higher "managing" the company. For the 100-130 headcount, I think there are at least 10 SVPs and higher, if not more. There are at least 3-4 longterm employees (6+ years) that have a well-established perception among employees of "what do they even do?"

We agree we have great people at Curious Plot who have done impressive work for our clients over the years! As we have grown, we identified the need to improve some processes, including our project management software, to ensure we are able to manage the increased volume of work and continue to meet deadlines and exceed expectations for all our clients. We are working on adjustments in how we use the software to better fit the needs of our people. This is a high priority. Our senior leaders, unless exclusively focused on operations, all have client responsibilities in addition to responsibilities for managing people and keeping our facilities and equipment operating efficiently so the rest of us can focus on our clients. While you may not see everything we do on a daily basis to keep the agency running, rest assured we are managing the daily details required to keep the lights on for you!
