Pros

-Interesting and technically challenging projects across a range of industries -Many friendly and knowledgeable colleagues who are enjoyable to work with -Great office location with a pleasant working environment

Cons

- Management can be very cliquey and employees may find it difficult to feel included if they are outside an established group -Hard work and strong performance are not always recognised or rewarded consistently -experience with management can feel highly critical and heavily focused on mistakes with little recognition of achievements or positive contributions -Raising concerns or offering a different perspective could feel difficult as conversations sometimes became defensive or escalated rather than encouraging open discussion - Although the company promotes an open-minded people-first culture - many experiences did not always align with those values. Policies and processes did not always feel consistently applied -Career progression opportunities can be limited -Salaries are average for comparable roles in the industry - There was a noticeable gap between the company’s messaging and how employee concerns were handled in practice - senior management can become less supportive and more critical/demoralising after you hand in your notice -they hire a lot of grads because they’re “cheaper”

Pros

- Truly exciting and engaging projects in the medical drug delivery device space. - Fantastic colleagues who are all passionate and very skilled. - General standard of technical work is very high. - Great office location, with healthy opportunities to travel to Europe and NA. - Open bars at summer and Christmas parties. - A chief might write a song about you.

Cons

- Ever increasing amount of corporate procedures which distract from pace of technical delivery. Project management function has become too central. Board require a significant amount of monitoring during project delivery as they've stepped back from day-to-day delivery tasks. - Relatively flat org structure which makes progression difficult. - Management is quite cliquey, and became frugal with headcount, hardware and software investment. - Employees not compensated for busy periods: no overtime pay, no bonuses, no shares. - Salaries are competitive at best, but likely underpaying for the calibre recruited.
