Pros

Maser consistently wins top 10 places to work in NJ (corporate office location), and it's a well deserved win. As a field tech with any company, the schedule is erratic, but the department heads did their best to allow a work-life balance (4 years with Maser, never had a single request off denied). Pay, even for lower-paid positions, is higher than most competitors that I'm aware of. Overall compensation package, benefits, and equipment are excellent. Despite having almost 1000 employees, HR and corporate execs still knew me by name. Overall great company culture, I would highly recommend working here.

Cons

Specifically the geotech department, upper management seems to make little to no effort to maintain a steady workload, to keep field staff employed and with enough hours. I was laid off twice due to lack of work. Despite loving my time at Maser, I would be very reluctant to return because of the almost inevitable layoff that I know would be coming.

Pros

-Covers professional exam costs UP-FRONT + completion bonus! -Corporate perks / initiatives are plentiful -Frequent lunch & learn seminars -Solid office culture / humor / team rapport

Cons

-Impactful projects are much fewer than 'bread & butter' projects -Commercial program work can pigeon-hole junior staff / limit skill-building -Inconsistent staffing (hurry up & wait) & management style between PMs -Growth from acquisitions prioritized over efficiency / streamlining of existing and new company knowledge & standards -Corporate bureaucratic processes can be frustrating
