Pros

Opportunity to move to Clean Harbors (Clean harbors is the parent company). Less work, better atmosphere, and more money Great training & good brand name to enter environmental industry Diversified portfolio (lubricants, parts washer, recycling services etc) Some colleagues are nice

Cons

Low base salary. As a salesperson, you make less money than Safety Kleen's truck & oil drivers. 2018 budget is beyond reach. It's classic dangling carrot paradox 90% of your customers are blue collar. Some people may thrive in this environment and some may not Office infrastructure is very poor. IT systems are from early 2000's. It's night and day btw Safety Kleen and Clean Harbors Poor marketing (especially when it comes to territory requirements) Operation department runs the company and has all the power. Operations think salespeople are useless and beneath them. Lot of these operation people were drivers and have old school mentality Expense. You have to spend your money and wait for 2 weeks to get paid, no company credit card for the expense. No company vehicle in Canada Growth opportunities are limited unless you are willing to relocate

Pros

Plenty of hours between 75 to 80 hours a week minimum. Good place to get experience as a stepping stone.

Cons

You're always on call it is mandatory that you work three weekends a month both Saturday and Sunday including the 5-day work weeks Monday through Friday Technician. As a coordinator you work 6 day work weeks Sunday through Friday you only get Saturdays off it's a salary based position so you get no compensation if you work over 8 hours a day as a coordinator and you will work more than 8 hours a day your minimum will be 12 to 14 hours a day up to a maximum of 18 hours a day regularly.
