Pros
The work was fulfilling and colleagues were great. You get close with colleagues complaining about horrible leadership. Pay is decent.
Cons
In IT, you effectively report to "leaders" that are offshore in India. These "leaders" have a terrible ego and go out of their way to critique and criticize every action for employees that are onshore. Most likely this is due to jealousy of being unable to be in person for executive meetings. Their goal is to burn you out so you leave and they replace you with cheaper offshore talent or to have such unreasonable expectations of you they can claim you aren't meeting expectations to get rid of you that way as well. IT executives don't care about this because all of the offshore leaders are Yes men that tell them whatever they want to hear and then take it out on everyone below them. The company doesn't care about Production Support and just pressures you to meet dates for strategic projects but the dates were pulled out of thin air and no logic was used to determine the date. This is pushed and pushed to meet these dates at the expense of all of the business users who are forced to use outdated applications with years and years worth of production issues because delivering a product with 10 bugs just to meet a fake date is more important than postponing to deliver a quality product.
