Excellent at Talking About Opportunity. Terrible at Delivering It - Administrative Citizens Employee Review

Pros

There are many hardworking, mission-driven employees at Citizens, and some executives genuinely value their teams. Benefits are decent, and the company presents itself well externally.

Cons

If you’re an administrative professional — especially a woman — be prepared to be overlooked, underpaid, and treated as expendable. Support staff are expected to operate at executive levels: managing C-suite calendars, resolving interdepartmental dysfunction, coordinating across time zones, and shielding leadership from chaos — with none of that reflected in title, compensation, or growth opportunity. Advancement for long-tenured, high-performing female admins is blocked by arbitrary degree requirements — even when supporting executives who themselves built their careers without degrees. Meanwhile, male administrative staff are often given elevated non-admin titles and significantly higher compensation for equivalent or lesser work. The message becomes clear during every pay and performance cycle: optics and politics matter more than actual output. Temporary employees earn higher hourly rates than full-time senior admins at Citizens.

Pros

The pros are the benefits, the pay could be higher for all that you learn and have to go through for ten weeks. They offer tuition assistance and opportunity for upskilling and advancing in such little time and the remote flexibility is great too

Cons

Management sucks and of course they have their favorites and then they have the people they target like myself. They micromanage bad and are quick to give you an occurrence for nothing. Their systems are so slow and then they blame you for being five ten minutes late logging in. They want you to tell them when you get up to breathe, go to the bathroom and they push for you to take calls and know boatloads of info after on 3 weeks of training. What they don’t know is that I will sue for any wrong doings or discrimination and I keep records of everything
