Pros
• Start-up environment and minimal to little structure within certain teams can lead to rapid self-development. • Plenty of work and scope to explore. • Freedom to experiment with your own work processes and design optimal and tailored methods of working as there is no structure embedded. This keeps up with the changing landscape of the software and allows staff to learn many styles and methods if they choose to collaborate. • Fruit, Bread and an insane amount of Milk • Really talented and good people with potential.
Cons
• Strong culture of micro management and no long-term planning, this leads to initiatives being quickly scrapped which is fine however there are no long-term initiatives to drive meaningful change. • Currently a purely sales driven environment where all departments are required to adapt their processes and workloads to ensure deals can survive for as long as possible. • Unethical practices around selling an undeveloped feature or ambiguous communication around functionality and requesting for internal stakeholders to communicate to clients that “it is coming soon” to buy time post sale. • No accountability expected post sale, leads to extreme silos created within the organisation and a culture of it’s not our problem. This is not localised to just sales but within the full support and onboarding structure. • Leadership promote the misleading of clients through lies to engage with clients and build their confidence. • Culture of bullying and interviews held to attempt to find out if Glassdoor reviews have been written by internal staff. • Culture of fear runs through some leadership as well as some numbers are manipulated in board reports and presentations as well. • Senior managers refuse to commit verbal promises to written form, perhaps as they don’t have the ability to follow through but want to achieve the favourable outcome of promising. • Multiple instances of promises which were denied when brought up by varying staff. • Currently severely understaffed, however this may be due to difficulty recruiting and the volume of people leaving.
