Pros
The kids and the families! Some of the coworkers were fun to work with. Everything depended on what classroom you were in and how you made the best of it.
Cons
Overworked, underpaid. I was told when I was given my job that I am being paid less because my overtime will make up for it, but then my hours would be cut if we were over budget. Principal can do whatever she wants because she is salaried and mine would just come and go as she pleased. If you called in sick the principal would huff and puff because she would have to come in early. The Assistant Principal would cover everything and basically ran the show. Thankfully she was more reliable than the principal and able to manage the school. The principal thought everything should be light and fluffy and let teachers who slacked get away with whatever lame excuse they made - not the way to run a business. At least in my opinion! Unfortunately that assistant principal left and the place became a mess. The principal was always complaining about having to work and never knew how to do things. People would get away with not doing their work and just sitting around.
