Pros

There is not one thing I can think of that would be considered a "pro" at this company.

Cons

I worked at CBA for 2 years and have never been more underappreciated. Every success i had was brushed under the rug or taken by management who promoted to to corporate as their own. I took the job to build up my resume and told hold myself over until I received a job as a full teacher. It was the worst mistake I ever made. I was the only certified teacher in the school. Very few employees really seemed to care about the children at all. I would leave mortified everyday after seeing how some of these employees treated the children. The children are wild and out of control due to the lack of consistency in the classroom. Most teachers do not run on a schedule, and have "rotating free play" the entire day. Other teachers spend their time coloring in the corner or on their cell phones. Some children are dropped off at 6am and there until 6pm. Classrooms are over packed and understaffed. Teachers are consistently out of ratio, because management rather sit at the front desk than help in a classroom. The only time we were in ratio was when there was a tour or corporate visit. There was no training. You are thrown into the classroom and expected to know what to do without being told. The management would not explain how the day was to go, and would yell when it wasn't up to their standards. My classroom was in the very far end of the building. There were 12 children in my classroom with no support teacher and ratio was 1:10. There was also no working phone. A child threw up on the rug one day and I had to yell down the hallway until someone came to help me because I could not leave the room. It wasn't fair to me that I had to go home crying everyday from lack of support. Little to no opportunity to advance. You can go from assistant to lead if management likes you. Corporate really just wants money. With my degree I was paid $11.50 per hour to work there. Assistant teachers were around $9.50. The one thing to remember if you are working for CBA is that you and every child in your class is just a number with a dollar sign. The worst part was I was rotated around to different CBAs in the area that needed "subs". They were all the same. I knew it wasn't just my building that was like this.

Assistant Principal was Awesome, Principal - not so much

Pros

The kids and the families! Some of the coworkers were fun to work with. Everything depended on what classroom you were in and how you made the best of it.

Cons

Overworked, underpaid. I was told when I was given my job that I am being paid less because my overtime will make up for it, but then my hours would be cut if we were over budget. Principal can do whatever she wants because she is salaried and mine would just come and go as she pleased. If you called in sick the principal would huff and puff because she would have to come in early. The Assistant Principal would cover everything and basically ran the show. Thankfully she was more reliable than the principal and able to manage the school. The principal thought everything should be light and fluffy and let teachers who slacked get away with whatever lame excuse they made - not the way to run a business. At least in my opinion! Unfortunately that assistant principal left and the place became a mess. The principal was always complaining about having to work and never knew how to do things. People would get away with not doing their work and just sitting around.

Pros

The kids were great and my co-workers were great

Cons

The management/principals do not care about you at all or your well being. They don’t listen. All they care about is enrollments. We were always short on supplies and when we asked for things for our class rooms we rarely received it. The place is dirty and gross and falling apart. They don’t care about how the parents treat you. It’s terrible! This place is just a money hungry glorified daycare.
