Pros
Good salary The company has money and they are ready to spend it on experienced people. Central location Basically 10 minutes walking from Marienplatz. Lots of restaurants and cafes around. Nice people A lot of interesting, experienced, motivated people. Lunch time doesn't get boring. Quick internal IT support Those guys are fast. Create a ticket and get it resolved in 5 minutes. Best internal IT support I've seen. Amazing Office Manager Highly motivated, full of energy and always helpful
Cons
Poor code quality. I felt like while chasing MVPs the company forgot to enforce code quality culture. As a result teams don't write documentation, test coverage is poor and any attempt to improve things is getting suppressed. Poor middle management. The company grew very fast and they didn't get to hire experienced people to leading roles. Yesterday's developers are working as engineering leads for 4-5 teams at the same time. As a result there is no leadership in the teams and no one to resolve conflicts or make decisions. I had a simple conflict with 1 person in the team and instead of resolving it the engineering lead decided to move me to another team and pretend that nothing happened. What is even worse is that I didn't have any expertise in the technology that the new team was working with. Unmotivated HR The first day I joined the company the HR representative didn't know which team I will be working with. He was walking around and asking teams if they know me and if I belong to them. The team appeared to be completely different from the one I was hired for. There was no working place arranged and the first 2 weeks I had to work on a couch. All the newcomers I talked to had the same experience. All the proposals for improvement are getting ignored. It feels like someone is forcing them to work and they are not motivation to do the job.
