Pros
Not so much a pro, but neutral, Canada Life is pretty on par with the other 2 major insurance providers I've worked for. They expect a lot of you, and generally push people stay caught up on work but they also overload staff. Being able to actually keep up with work is unusual and results in praise and recognition in the form of a pat on the back.
Cons
Little to no, company culture. The vibe is very much get your work done and as soon as it hits 5pm, log out and leave. Mostly everyone is there for the paycheque and few take any passion in their work. Their systems are incredibly old and in need of updating. When I left at the end of 2021, they were dangling the carrot they had just finished updating one system that was 20yrs old to a system that is already 10yrs out of date. The training for this role was lengthy and detailed but very textbook oriented and NOT hands-on at all. When I was finally assigned files, I felt like I was back on day 1.
