Pros
You can tell the company truly cares about its employees. Having had bad experiences with other government contractors, Calhoun does a great job with communication and employee assistance. Despite the time difference, the senior leadership is always available with an open door policy, and always willing to work with employees on issues. Senior leadership is straight-forward and doesn't play games with negotiations or hidden agendas, and looks out for employee welfare. All PTO is given on the first day of the year and you can use it at your convenience without penalty. Also, the company takes time to do site visits, despite the distance from Corporate headquarters, allowing contractors to meet the people they work for. Not only these things, but the company is willing to stick up for contractors when there are issues with the customer, and sort out mutually beneficial solutions for everyone when required. Insurance, 401k, and other benefits are also comparable to industry standard. Honestly, Calhoun is one of the better contracting companies on the market and I am quite thankful to work here.
Cons
-Health insurance is pretty expensive compared to other companies, but Dental and Vision are priced well. -Only get paid once a month (this is neutral since some people enjoy the flexibility this pay schedule provides. However it is inconvenient if you aren't used to it, or have poor spending/financial habits).
