Lots of truly bad people who've been here forever and keep breaking really important stuff and blaming everyone else
No one good stays. They only retain insane people who constantly defend the insanity and people who are just really terrible at what they do but because there is a severe lack of protocol / oversight / review and everything is always on fire they can break everything constantly and never get caught while the competent people lose their nights / weekends / holidays fighting endless fires ( and then quit )
The CTO is an absolute charlatan. Full stop. He knows absolutely nothing about software development and is constantly chasing whatever is trendy with absolutely no idea how it works and while accepting no input from anyone. He clearly thinks CSAT is a stepping stone to something bigger and better and is hyper-focused on buzzy words for his resume. He scammed his way into winning an award and CSAT leadership is so immensely incompetent they took that at face value without looking into the reality. His management style consists of sending cagey, aggressive emails to literally everyone at once when one person does something he doesn't like.
