Pros
-Pay is really great -Benefits package is great in terms of healthcare, dental, vision, etc -401k matching -still offers a pension -Generous sick pay -Union based (pro and con) -Raises each year based on Union contract and bonuses as well
Cons
-Management and HR do not care about you -Union based so it's always Union worker vs the management and they can never agree -Union only cares about the operators -While the pay is great, we are overworked and underpaid for the amount we work -Job can be extremely physical and easy to get injured on job. However, company refuses to acknowledge that the job itself is problematic -Management just loves to keep piling work on the employees even when we are overworked and they wonder why we cannot get everything done -Rotating swing shift is very hard on the natural sleep cycle -You can get forced to work overtime at almost any time -Management will never, ever praise you for a good job done
