Pros

Friendly corporate culture, offers 9/80 work schedule, prior to pandemic offered good benefits but plan on re-implementing them when business returns to normal per Sr Mgmt.

Cons

Sr Mgmt not progressive thinking, rather old school. Future of the company is in question due to debt owed by the government of Venezuela. Due to pandemic ALL benefits eliminated except insurance and vacation time. Implemented pay cuts across the board, eliminated performance pay increases, bonus opportunities for salaried workers, stopped employer 401 K contributions, reduced pension plan as well as other benefits that are the reasons I chose to work for here.

Pros

Great pay, company match up to $500 to charities. Get to meet Astros baseball players

Cons

Limited or NO mobility. If you're not down with Chavez and socialism or weren't born in Venezuela, your opportunities for advancement are ZERO to NONE. Especially if you're educated and bilingual, senior management is scared and threatened by anyone who "might" be remotely more intelligent than they are.

Pros

The 9/80 work schedule, health benefits/healthy living incentives, 401K match and pension you won't find many other places anymore, laid back work environment overall although not in every department. The people are overall friendly. People are active in their community and volunteering. Some consider it a 'CITGO family'.

Cons

The lack of upward mobility for even 'high' achieving employeess is really discouraging causing good employees to eventually leave in order to advance their career. Negotiate what you want salary wise when you come on board because you will be stuck in the same pay band for a long time regardless of performance. Not the company to come work for if you are looking for high compensation.
