Pros

Zero, Zilch, Nada, NOTHING. Did I hit 20 word minimum?

Cons

The Background Investigator job is a dead end, horrible job. I curse the day I ever accepted the position and I'm so glad I don't have work as an administrative assistant --- oh I mean background investigator anymore. Where to start? First, you are an hourly employee, but you are expected to work off the clock to complete work or to meet unrealistic stats. This job is nothing but a factory job, except with a factory job a person can clock in and out and get PAID for the hours they work. To think that OPM is considered the HR arm of the U.S. Government ... and contract workers are worked like they are ...makes my skin crawl and also a little sad. But why am I suprised, after the largest security breach in US history, OPM is considered the arm pit of the U.S. government. Thanks to them, everytime I would read the privacy act I would get a ... doesn't matter anyway China already has all my information. You carry around a USELESS badge that allows you NO access to any buildings, etc, but if you loose it, you have to pay $2000 to get it replaced. Ha! Also, I was LIED to about yearly salary when hired - they can spin it anyway they like - but salary ended up about $8,000 less than quoted. You could never get away with that on the private side. Oh, the entire background investigation process is a JOKE. The majority of people can't fill out the basic paper work, so you get the pleasure of doing it for them. The customer was always changing requirements for the process- here is a tip - instead of making useless changes why don't you modify the SF86 and SF85 questionnaires? No, they want you to fill out other's paperwork so that person can get a security clearance, but guess what, you DON'T have ONE. One last thing, does ANYONE ever read the reviews? I would be embarrassed to read the reviews left by background investigators - especially Keypoint's reviews. If you ever want a good laugh... or cry... grab some popcorn and read the reviews by Keypoint employees. Really not suprised, this is the same agency that was so lax in their oversight, USIS took them to the cleaners. The only reason they dropped USIS was b/c they would never get any peace. Some rep from agency testified in hearing or was quoted in news as saying he didn't even know how BI on contract side works. This process is a TOTAL JOKE!

Pros

Great support from other team members

Cons

Communication from the Web Content Analyst lead could be improved. Employees were often expected to complete tasks with limited guidance or knowledge sharing, which made onboarding and professional development more difficult. Interactions with leadership could sometimes feel unnecessarily dismissive or discouraging, especially when employees asked questions or requested clarification on technical processes. Expectations and priorities occasionally changed without clear communication, creating confusion and additional stress for team members trying to meet deadlines and deliver quality work. Technical information sometimes felt unnecessarily restricted, which created challenges for collaboration, efficiency, and overall team growth. Feedback was not always delivered in a constructive or supportive manner, which could negatively affect morale and confidence within the team. Stronger communication, mentorship, professionalism, and a more collaborative leadership approach would greatly improve the overall employee experience and workplace culture.
