Pros
Smart people who aren't afraid to tell you how smart they are. Having BlackRock on a resume can look pretty good.
Cons
For a firm whose CEO writes letters to other Fortune 500 companies to think long term, there seems to be a lot of reactionary 'product focus' pushes throughout the year, largely designed around what's doing well at the firm. Many, many layers of management. Very insular senior leadership. Pay for performance is the mantra; pay just enough to keep people is more the reality.
