Pros

biggest asset manager in the world broad range of products and some blue-chip clients "one BlackRock" architectural model kind of impressive (though often not followed)

Cons

decisions are taken far away in NY without consulting the people who know what they are doing staff are not empowered to act on their own and independent thought is discouraged (I found out the hard way) technology is very old-fashioned and variable quality presenteeism culture especially in the US terminal short-termism in IT planning

Pros

Plenty of opportunity to work on project teams. Lots of exposure to senior leaders in HR and the businesses. Great collaboration in the One BlackRock spirit. Benefits to support employees and their families are good.

Cons

Workload can be challenging at times. However, you are gaining a lot of new skills in a short prior of time and the ability to work with leaders is worth it.
