Pros

IC's are wonderful people and some of the smartest and hard working people I know. Lots of company time off (all federal holidays off, 3-4 inner work days and winter and summer corporate shutdowns). Free coaching is great and has truly helped me grow as a leader and person.

Cons

BetterUp values style over substance, lofty strategy over effective execution, thinkers over doers. The org structure is extremely top heavy with way too many Directors and VP's for the size of the company. Lots of politics and extremely low levels of trust. Data is a mess and has turned into a liability instead of an asset. Sales - reorgs every year for the last 4-5 years, new leaders coming in with their way of doing things. Very few hit quota unless a blue bird drops in your lap or you're a long timer. Absolutely zero sales enablement, be ready to learn the products and Salesforce on your own. R&D - chaotic with constant strategic shifts. Leadership are too "grounded in the science" and spend time building pretty slides instead of products/features that actually address customer needs. G&A - always being forced to do more with less, severely underrecognized and underappreciated. Certain teams have not grown in over 4 years even with more people they have to support, more complicated asks from management and tools being ripped out from under them.

Pros

I have enjoyed coaching a number of members here over the years.

Cons

Too many to name… they really seem to be on a downhill slope when they have to keep repeating that many coaches have low workloads now but it’s because they have changed the business strategy… they do have coaches tagged to that new strategy but it’s mysterious how they got those opportunities… they like to hide behind the idea that the algorithm makes decisions on workload but that’s BS to an extent.
