Pros

- friendly, intelligent, easy to work with, and diverse colleagues - Remote-first workplace with a flexible PTO policy - yearly learning stipend

Cons

- limited salary/career growth, no career ladders, minimal/nonexistent raises, and scarce learning opportunities - 'functional leadership team' maintains a closed-door approach, which hinders broader access to advancement and recognition, even for those who contributed significantly to key projects - The product is outdated and overpriced, resembling something designed by a novice in the early 2000s. Sales and growth numbers reflect this, so I’d strongly recommend examining financials closely before joining, especially if you're in sales - BenchPrep suffers from an identity crisis and lacks a clear direction in an already saturated market. - Leadership lacks strategic direction and experience, leading to frequent priority shifts, mass layoffs, and a toxic environment. - Many managers have been promoted internally without the necessary experience or training to lead teams effectively, a consequence of BenchPrep being too cost-conscious to hire experienced leaders externally.

Pros

BenchPrep has some of the smartest people working for them. Everyone is willing to help to get the job done.

Cons

Fully remote which is nice but it is also not the best for building culture.
