Disgraceful culture perpetuated by management of strongly implying that working hours and hours of overtime is necessary whilst not directly saying it so can’t get called out. Management are aware of employees clearly struggling from burnout after two years of working well past their capacity throughout the pandemic and yet constantly demand more from employees with strong pressure to act like they are doing you a favour by giving you ‘development opportunities’ (i.e. more work for same pay). High turnover within certain departments due to clique culture and unrelenting pressure but management don’t seem to care. Genuine talent being lost because the council have no interest in retaining employees or treating them like human beings.
