Pros
It is defense work so it is a pretty stable job A pulse and a clearance is really all you need Low expectations Little overtime expected.
Cons
You are there to bill hours to the government, whether or not you are actually getting anything accomplished doesn't really matter. In general defense work is wasteful and it feels like crap blowing taxpayer dollars on worthless projects. I worked on projects that were DARPA funded, but the commercial sector is blowing past DARPA these days. The long term projects are just milking the government for billable hours.
