Not as good as it use to be - Partner Development Manager Amazon Web Services Employee Review

Pros

Great place to learn and get a wealth of experience and new ways of working. Can be good compensation (but need good performance review followed by stock appreciation. Relatively low politics. Opportunity to change roles or locations. Overall smart and decent colleagues.

Cons

Management changes frequently, and not all managers are good. Constant re-organizations and poor leadership communication. Return to office 5 days mandate. Promotions can be difficult and opaque. Can be average compensation (if stock goes down). Not as fun and exciting/entrepreneurial as it was a few years back. Can be poor work life balance and high stress as complex org structures and poor operational/goal interlocks between teams.

Pros

- Strong place to be early in your career as it provides valuable training and the brand recognition can create strong future opportunities. - Is great if you’re interested in what you’re doing/selling

Cons

- 5 days in office is not great for work/life balance - If your manager doesn’t like you, good luck! - 401k match is lower than most companies - Base salary compensation is weak compared to other big tech - Leveling/career progression is near impossible due to reorgs leading to a promotion “freeze” - Role can evolve over time in ways that may not align with original job expectations
