Amazon tag. People think they are joining Amazon when they join this group

Cons

-Illegal hiring practice - GCC is code for "offshore development centre", which they do not specify in the job description. -Lack of HR oversight, local top 1-2 managers run this group like a fiefdom. From the outside it is made to appear like a democratic process, but all key decisions are micromanaged by 1-2. All type of gimmicks which happen in government offices happen here, but in a subtle way. -Corrupt management practices - similar to a government bureaucracy. Sycophants are promoted, anybody raising questions will be retaliated in subtle methods. -Low wages, lower than market. Justification given is you do not meet their "high standards" -Leveling process across the organization is a disaster - You will find people with 8 years at L6, and in some other team 10 years at L4. - Overall this specific group is typical Indian government bureaucracy.. rest you can imagine

Pros

- Strong place to be early in your career as it provides valuable training and the brand recognition can create strong future opportunities. - Is great if you’re interested in what you’re doing/selling

Cons

- 5 days in office is not great for work/life balance - If your manager doesn’t like you, good luck! - 401k match is lower than most companies - Base salary compensation is weak compared to other big tech - Leveling/career progression is near impossible due to reorgs leading to a promotion “freeze” - Role can evolve over time in ways that may not align with original job expectations
