Pros

Above average salary for the type of work being performed. Great for people who can do their job with zero communication from management.

Cons

Management non existent. Tight knit culture only applies if you are religious. Nepotism and favoritism abound.

I want people to be well compensated for the work that they do, and, in turn, my desire is for them to be productive for clients and coworkers with very little “prodding” from management. While we do strive for structure and order, I certainly would not label us as being micromanagers. With regard to religion, I purposefully “make no bones” about the fact that I am a Christian during the interview process. I try and run my business based on biblical principles. It is how I see myself, the work that is done at Allevia, and every single individual that comes into contact with this business. The desire of my heart is that people that work at Allevia love the work that they do, they love the people they work with, and they love each other. You absolutely do not have be of ANY faith to do those 3 things. I do not have any family that work here, so nepotism isn’t an issue. Since we are very much a meritocracy, this can easily be misconstrued as “favoritism”. I want people who WANT to be here and WANT to do the work that we do. The better you are at your job, the more trust you earn and the more privileges you receive (e.g. better pay, managing people, etc.). This is the way that business (in general) works. I want people who walk in the door and will work hard for our clients so that we can serve them with excellence. -Stefan Wilson (owner)

Pros

Everyone here encourages continued learning. MSP experience is also very valuable for a resume as you get to be hands on with a variety of different vendors and technologies. There is some good to be found here.

Cons

I applied for a tier 2 position and was offered a tier 1 without that being communicated to me outside the offer letter. This was shady, but I ignored it as I needed the experience. The pay is incredibly low for the amount of work you are expected to do. Do not bother getting comfortable learning any policies, because they will needlessly change a few weeks later. Too many meetings and overcomplication of processes from management taking themselves too seriously. No health insurance and other benefits are average. This is a great 1st job for the experience, but after 1 year here, do NOT stick around. They will treat you like "family" until they suddenly decide you're not. Also, do not let anyone know if you are looking for work elsewhere as it will be used against you.
