Pros
I enjoy a steady year round income. I am making some of the best paychecks in my life. The people I work with are great and helpful, as a new guy I'm not treated poorly even when I make mistakes.
Cons
As a new employee in the bulk delivery division, the thing I see as a real down side to Airgas is that their management is very disconnected from those that do the foundational work of the company. I could write a long list of things but for brevity sake I'll point out the the headquarters in Houston Texas has a hard time knowing the details of their customers and employees in states like Oregon and Washington. Also the company spends large amounts on technology and safety programs but their production facilities and transport trailers are decades out of date, there are nitrogen trailers in service that were built in the 70's. Although Airgas has newer trucks, they get truck that are not suited for the type of products being shipped, and as such, breakdown frequently. Unfortunately what I'm seeing is a company that is not investing in itself for the future, its as though the top brass doesn't plan on this division of the company to be around in 15-20 years.
